Rhubarb Oatmeal for breakfast from Irish

Cuisine that will be discussed is derived from the Irish cuisine, made from nutritious oatmeal, thus making you ready for activity. Cuisine that we will make today is Rhubarb Oatmeal.


Let's start by preparing Ingredients that will be used to cook this dish.

Ingredient:


  • 1 cup oatmeal
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup rhubarb, chopped into 0.5 inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon golden syrup
  • Chopped peacans  
Cooking Instructions:
 
  • Combine the oatmeal and water in a saucepan and bring to the boil. 
  • Once it boils reduce the heat and allow to simmer for 10-12 minutes.
  • In a seperate saucepan add the rhubarb and brown sugar. 
  • Place over a meduium heat and allow the fruit to stew. 
  • Remove the rhubarb from the heat once it is soft and the juices start to bubble.
  • Mix the stewed rhubard through the oatmeal. 
  • Top with golden syrup ad chopped peacans.
