Bitterballen, balls from Dutch





Want to make the right food while hanging out with the family? The one food that may be suitable for families. this Dutch origin food is little influenced by French recipe from the north, as well as other European food, these dishes also added from milk, cheese and nuts.


Let's start the show to cook, anyway,to cook bitterballen is pretty easy. Just mix the ingridient, make ball, and fry.. just like that...

Let's start with the ingredients to be prepared.

Ingridients:

  • 150 g flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 leek, thinly sliced
  • 400 ml of milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • ½ tsp nutmeg
  • 250 g of boiled chicken breast fillets, finely chopped rather
  • 50 g Cheddar cheese, grated
   Dough for coated:
  • 200 g breadcrumb
  • 2 eggs, mix well
  • oil for fry

If ingredients has been prepared, it's time to cooookkiiinnggg .... 

Process: 

  • Melt the butter / margarine and then saute the leek until wilted and smell good.
  • Enter the flour, stir quickly and evenly until grained, pour the milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, stirring until evenly distributed.
  • Add chicken and Cheddar cheese and stir. Then lift, while stir until dough is chilled.
  • After the dough is cold , shape into a ball with a diameter of approximately 3-4 cm, dip into bread crumb, then dip into beaten eggs before, then breadcrumb again. Let stand for about 20 minutes so the dough stick perfectly.
  • Fry in oil (deep frying) with high heat until lightly golden brown.
  • Lift then drain, ready to be served. *(add mayonnaise sauce will be more delicious when served )
